Flower Form Vase

Tiffany Favrile Glass <br> Flower Form Vase 1
Height: 13 1/2 inches
American, circa 1898-1900

An original and rare Tiffany Favrile Glass Flower Form Vase, with 'Onion' form foot and elongated neck which flares out to a ruffled rim, the overall form with slight vertical ribbing that corresponds to the decorative iridescent vertical striations in the rounded amber foot, in addition to the green leaves with stretch from the translucent neck of the vase to the pale pink background of the gently ruffled and scalloped rim. This vase is signed on the underside and retains its original paper label.

A related example was acquired by the Museum of Art and Design in Hamburg at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris through Siegfried Bing, Louis Comfort Tiffany's European sales representative. The Hamburg example, similar in height and only a few numbers away in sequence, is pictured on the front of the exhibition catalogue for "Louis C. Tiffany: Masterworks of American Art Nouveau," which was on view at the MFK Hamburg from March 31 - June 13, 1999.
