Rare Aquamarine Vase

Tiffany Favrile Glass Rare Aquamarine Vase 1
Tiffany Favrile Glass Rare Aquamarine Vase 1
American, circa 1911-12
Height: 6 inches (15.24 cm)

A rare example of Tiffany's Favrile Glass in the Aquamarine style. This example features a branch adorned with white apple blossoms in the Japonesque style, asymmetrically cascading from the rim of the body down towards the footed based, formed by a solid mass of tinted clear glass.

As a result of the complex and labor-intensive process and high-level of skill required to produce these unusual and complex cased designs required for an Aquamarine Vase, this style of vase is among the most rare produced by Tiffany Studios.

A paperweight vase featuring similar floral decoration is illustrated in "The Art Glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany" by Paul Doros, p. 139 fig. 86.
