A symposium Designing Women: American Women in the Decorative Arts,
1875-1915, was held at the New York Historical Society on March 24, 2007.The
symposium was held in conjunction with the New York Historical Society's
exhibition A New Light on Tiffany:Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls. The
symposium examined the critical role played by women in the design and
production of the decorative arts. The New York Historical Society's
exhibition focuses on the recent discovery of information about Clara
Driscoll and her role as a designer of Tiffany lamps and the role of women
at Tiffany Studios.
Lillian Nassau is proud to have been a sponsor of both the exhibition and
symposium.
A reception and book signing of the catalogue was held at our gallery on
March 24 for the participants.
