This charming Tiffany Favrile Glass Cabinet Vase is a fine early example of the innovative iridescence developed in the late 19th century by Louis Comfort Tiffany and glass chemist Arthur Nash, earning Tiffany glass lasting fame.
The footed vase is formed by opaque bright blue glass characterized by highly reflective silvery-blue surface iridescence. From the foot, a subtle striated pulled feather motif articulated in creamy white rises up and subtly twists around the body, terminating at the pinched and pointed quatrefoil rim.
This early example of Tiffany Favrile Glass is inscribed on the underside with signature and date code.
