This rare Pen Tray is part of the Byzantine Desk Set produced by Tiffany Studios around the turn of the 20th century. The Byzantine Desk Set was one of the most elaborately decorated sets produced by Tiffany Studios, featuring low relief decoration of rounded bronze beads and inset pieces of Tiffany glass.
This example, in gilt bronze, features inset hand-cut panels of Tiffany Glass in an emerald green color with beveled edges.
