This exceptional vase is an unusual early example of wheel-carved Favrile Glass.
The rounded clear body of the vase is decorated with a motif of large soft pink poppies, each of which features delicately wheel-carved details to create a naturalistic rendering of the flowers, including delicately curling petals and the central seed pod. The poppy blossoms are surrounded by thin green stems which have also been wheel-carved. Areas of the clear background have also been wheel-carved with the poppy motif, adding additional visual interest to the piece.
The rim of the vase features a thin border of wheel-carved gadroon decoration.
This rare piece of Tiffany Blown Glass is inscribed on the underside with signature and date code.
